You don’t have to be shopping for a new car to enjoy the Miami International Auto Show, but if you are, there’s no better place to compare the latest and greatest in auto technology from the biggest names in the industry. Car enthusiasts, families, shoppers and tech-geeks alike enjoy the grandiose displays at the Miami Beach Convention Center over ten days in November. Come to the Annual Miami International Auto Show, where you can see the latest models of cars, trucks and SUVs from more than 40 of the world’s top auto manufacturers.

With over a million square feet of exhibit space, the Miami International Auto Show is one of the top five auto shows in the U.S. held every fall. The South Florida Auto Show is also the first important exhibition of the new car season.

Visitors to the South Florida International Auto Show will see nearly 1,000 vehicles representing all makes from Hummers and Land Rovers to Saturns and Mitsubishis. Classic car lovers are sure to enjoy a visit to Memory Lane, where they can admire 20 classic cars from yesteryear. Motorcycle enthusiasts can see such bikes as Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha. One of the South Florida Auto Show's most popular exhibits, Million Dollar Alley, features Rolls Royce, Porsche, Ferrari, Lotus and other high-end automobiles.

In 2012, the Miami International Auto show got a new name (formerly the South Florida International Auto Show) and makeover with major overhauls and unique and forward-thinking exhibits were added like “Topless in Miami,” a convertible showcase, Havana Classics, a display showcasing historic cars of 50’s Cuba, Memory Lane presented by the Antique Automobile Club of America’s South Florida Region, and ride-and-drive events. Today, there are additional events including Million Dollar Alley, a lavish display of gold shiny cars and blinged-out sets of wheels.

Some of the major exhibitors include: Acura, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Fiat, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Infinity, Jaguar, JEEP, KIA, Lamborghini, Landrover. Lexus, Lincoln, Lotus, Maserati, Mazda, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, RAM, Rolls Royce, Scion, Smart, Subaru, Toyota, Volve and VW. The displays are elaborate and beautiful and staffed by professionals who know the ins-and-outs of that brand’s technology and each car’s capability.

Expect an all-day affair. The show runs on most days from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. over ten days in mid-November.

The organization behind the Miami International Auto Show is the South Florida Auto-Truck Dealers Association. The group introduced the South Florida Auto Show to the world in 1971, a year when a gallon of gas cost a mere 36 cents.
